Hello choir SYF is just 3 and a half days from now! I'm guessing you already know the routine by now but please remember to take care of your voices and get plenty of rest so you can give us your best on both Monday and on the competition day itself.
Drink plenty of water and NO EATING THE BANNED FOODS. The banned foods are fried or spicy stuff, chocolate and anything that you know is not good for your throat.
Yes this means no curry for you Terence.
Bring your costume for an attire check on Monday. BRING ALL THE NECESSARY ITEMS. The guys will have to bring your shoes, socks (black and not ankle socks), white shirt, blazer, tie and pants. Girls bring your dress, sash, shoes and necklace. Guys who forget/are unable to bring all the items on monday are to look for Joshua or Gemonn in class 4C or 4F respectively and let them inspect the items that you missed on Tuesday. Girls please report to Kimberly in 3H
On Wednesday you are to attend the flag-raising ceremony as per usual and report to the AVT once it is over. Lower secondary members you do not have to take part in the morning exercise. Remember that ABSOLUTE FOCUS IS EXPECTED OF YOU on the competition date. No screaming or straining your voice ok.
We expect you to know how to conduct yourselves on the day of competition and on the days prior. Remember that our goal is not merely to get a GwH award, but also to bring out the musicality in the songs. Remember the things we have done today and try your best to do those things on stage and bring the music to life.

The AHS Choir in the last few years has witnessed unprecedented growth and accomplishment under the inspired baton of our resident conductor, Terrence Toh.
A few of these achievements include the coveted Gold with Honours at the 2007 and 2009 SYF Central Judging for Choir and a Gold at the International Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic in 2008.
However, these accolades are not the choir’s only source of pride and joy, but rather the instilling of a passion for the choral art form and a deep desire to bring music to our community.
With this focus in mind, the choir has sung in a host of community based performances, including our annual concerts and as invited guests at various ceremonies held by government and community organizations.
For Terrence Toh and the Anglican High School Choir, no stage is too small nor informal, no challenge too insurmountable nor unnerving, as long as we stay true to the music we make.
