sorry to use this blog as a channel but i have to make an announcement regarding the alumni choir k!

Hello, all 2008 graduates of Anglican High School Choir!

I need FIFTEEN people from different sections for our AHS alumni choir carolling gig at Isetan Scotts!

so far, i have confirmed myself, jenna, leongying, elissa, pamela, chia-a-a-a-a, chuinchi, kaho, kayat,choy, jongoh, bella & i need MORE people!

okay and see, i need you people to train your favourite choral technique, BLASTING. cos we're FIFTEEN people needing to cover SIX LEVELS worth of space, so we need to be LOUD. not that that is or ever was much of a problem, but please go revise all your blasting techniques and support and all because we need a good start to our alumni choir reputation. therefore, PLEASE dont go and spoil your throats anytime soon k!

so, since there are only 15 spaces we're currently limiting it only to our 2008 batch. if we cant fill it then im sure the seniors will love to join us (:

i need people who are free from the 19-24th december, drop me a sms telling me what days you're free and all. each of the 15 carollers will get a 50dollar isetan voucher, courtesy of isetan and we get 300dollars/gig to be wired into our bank account. so if you cant make it one of the days or smth, get someone to stand in for you and split the voucher (though i dont know how you can do that)

besides that, i need you guys to sms me if you are joining the alumni choir. this is regardless of whether or not you're in the carolling gig this time round. we have to decide on a name and it cannot be like anglican chorale cos if its anyth to do with ahs the school will kope our money and it'll be byebye to alumni choir teeshirt/costume/chalet/whatever.

also, as a side note, we'll probably be performing in the esplanade in the middle of next year as a guest item in the main choir's thingy. details to follow.

The AHS Choir in the last few years has witnessed unprecedented growth and accomplishment under the inspired baton of our resident conductor, Terrence Toh. A few of these achievements include the coveted Gold with Honours at the 2007 and 2009 SYF Central Judging for Choir and a Gold at the International Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic in 2008. However, these accolades are not the choir’s only source of pride and joy, but rather the instilling of a passion for the choral art form and a deep desire to bring music to our community. With this focus in mind, the choir has sung in a host of community based performances, including our annual concerts and as invited guests at various ceremonies held by government and community organizations.

For Terrence Toh and the Anglican High School Choir, no stage is too small nor informal, no challenge too insurmountable nor unnerving, as long as we stay true to the music we make.
